Use Google Maps In a Place with NO Internet Connection.
If you are planning to travel to some place with no network
coverage, but still want to use Google maps (without location features) , type
“OK Maps” in the search box and the visible area will be saved for offline
future access.
It’s far better than just taking a screenshot and save them to view it later, because your
saved map lets you zoom in for greater detail.
Here’s how to do it:
i. Zoom in on
a part of a map that you want to save for offline browsing.
ii. Then, tap the
search bar and type “OK Maps” (minus the quotes)
iii. Press the Search button.
If
all goes well, you should see a prompt indicating that the map is downloading.
It will take about 10 seconds, depending on the size of the map you've selected
and the speed of your internet connection. Wait for the message that says “The
on-screen map area has been cached,” and you’re good to go.
